Ever I wonder for very long time where the money go. I am talking about Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) for example. See this is my theory regarding how Malaysian government keep burden their people. It a simple calculation.
Malaysian government encourage their people to 'berhutang' in some many way. It either small thing from Singer or Court Mammoth to Cars and houses. We talk about how the govenment making money from this kind loan in later day.
Lets talk about JPJ. Let said half of Malaysia population own a vehicles such as cars, bike, van, lorry etc. Let say 12 million vehicle register to JPJ. and let said average 'road tax' (ops it is not a road tax now -sensitif lor). Let said average registration per vehicle are RM100.00 each. JPJ collected minimum of RM12 billion if my calculation is right each year without fail. That an average of RM100 per registration some pay more than that.
I just with that kind of money.. Malaysia should be toll free road. The amount of money collected by JPJ is more than enough to cover the cost build and maintenance of the road system (if they don't jack up the cost la to cover some people).
Then I met a senior government official lately and ask them this question.
Now I know where the money goes!
Malaysian government have they way of collecting revenue from each department. Each money come from any government department have to sent to Finance Ministry (i think). All the money collected by any department including JPJ. And JPJ or any other department need the money need to ask back from the finance ministry or MTEN provided that the come up with good proposal and good recomendation from their officer.
I don't think the is the right way to run the country. This is wrong. So no matter how hard you work and how much money you collected yo have to give to some one and they decided to give back to you or not!
No wonder the government are still the government and the mentality will never change for the better.. better for the people.
